Surrounded by loved ones, Lucille Middleton beloved wife of the late Arnold Middleton, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2019 at the St. Claude Health Centre at the age of 92 years.
Lucille will be lovingly remembered by her children Linda (Louis) Tremorin, Reg (Ida), Dorothy DiGirolamo (Bernard Gaultier), Judy (Doug) Dubois, Ellen (Luc) Gaultier, Carol (Gerald) Delaquis, Susan (Gary) Ducharme, Douglas (Lillian), Jimmy (Jacqueline), Bonnie (Marc) Lariviere, Arthur (Suzanne); grandchildren/great-grandchildren Christine (Kevin) Ross – Hailey, Alycia; Marilyne (Jason) Dupras – Brendon, Alexis, Nicholas; Denis Tremorin – Emilie, Luca and Nala (twins); Candace (Mark) Hadway – Nolan, Makenna, Landon, Marlee, Callie; Jill Middleton; Lisa (Doug) Lehmann – Mychaela, Matthew, Anthony; Roselle(†) DiGirolamo – Rylan, Morgan; Francesca DiGirolamo – Guilianna, Luca; Vince DiGirolamo; Jeff (Mandy) Dubois – Carson, Jaxon; Kevin Dubois – Cameron, Owen; Travis (Carrie) Dubois - Hailey-Ann, Carter; Remi (Carrie) Dureault – Everly, Kynlee; Melissa Dureault (Stephen Tkachyk) – Brodey, Jayden and Paige; Cory Delaquis – Jaida, Kaeden; Jared (Raina) Delaquis – Ryder, Ivy; Garett Delaquis; Brent Ducharme; Daniel Ducharme; Derek Middleton (special friend Tyler); Kelsey Middleton; Christopher Middleton (special friend Annette); Kimberley (Joel) Rheault – Tessa, Dreyden, Ezlyn; Adam Middleton; Justin Middleton; Maeghan Middleton; Karley Middleton; Tyler Middleton – T.J. Predeceased by her husband Arnold (2014), son Norman (1997); son in-law Frank (2010); granddaughter Roselle (2011); parents Adrien and Thérèse Rey; brothers Guy Rey, Fernand (Sophie) Rey; sisters Leona (Adrian) Johnson and Renée (Louis) Hebert; brther-in-law Stan Morisseau.
Lucille was born on July 18, 1926 in Haywood, MB. She attended school at Dandurand S.D., St. Claude High School for grade eleven and graduating at St. Charles Convent in June of 1944. Lucille attended University of Winnipeg (United College), it was a summer school training for teachers on permit. That fall she started teaching in a small rural school in Bruxelles St. Gustave S.D. from Sept. 1944 to June 1945. In June 1946, she attended “Normal School” in Winnipeg, graduating with a Teaching Certificate. She continued to teach at St. Louis S.D. in Cardinal from 1946-1948, Columbine School 1948-1949, then St. Jean S.D. (north of Haywood) from 1949-1951. Dad and Mom were married on July 18, 1951. They lived on the farm and raised their twelve children near Haywood, MB. In 1991, they left the farm and enjoyed living in Elm Creek, MB. They then moved to Carman, MB where they spent a few years with family and friends. After Dad’s passing in 2014, Mom moved to the St. Claude Health Centre until her passing.
Viewing and visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Rd. S. Portage la Prairie from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, Haywood, Manitoba at 10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Reception will follow at the Haywood Community Hall. A family interment will take place at the Elm Creek Cemetery.
