With family at her side, Yvonne Bouchard passed away peacefully at the Portage District General Hospital on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the age of 74 years.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents Eva and IrenAC.e Labbe; brothers Emile, Elephege (Al), Francoie and John; sisters Jeanne Hallmark and Irene Desjardins; sister-in-law Noella Labbe; brothers&sisters-in-laws Mariange & Henry Beaudry, Lawrence Bouchard, Germaine Bouchard, Rheal Bouchard, Lou Beaudin, Paul Labossiere, Marcel Bouchard, Marcel Martin and Ernest Bouchard, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Tony of Portage la Prairie; children Monique (Kevin) Laramee of Portage la Prairie, Louise (Lynn) Phaneuf of Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Anita (Ian) Elgert of MacDonald, and Robert Bouchard of Toronto, Ontario; grandchildren Travis, Melissa, Alicia, Renee, Daylan, Denise, Jordan and Nicole; sister Anita (Fred) Schmidt of Medicine Hat, AB, sisters-in-law Margaret Labbe and Fran Labbe both of Edmonton AB; special niece Joyce (Adolf) Rissling of Los Angles, California as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Yvonne will also be lovingly remembered by her brothers & sisters-in-law Ricky Bouchard, Adelard Bouchard, Marie Bouchard, Therese Beaudin, Stella Labossiere, Pauline Bouchard, George & Pat Bouchard, Sally Martin and Mona Bouchard and their families.

Yvonne was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba in 1936 and continued on to become a graduate of Herzing College in Winnipeg. Her past employment included positions with The Canadian Grain Commission in Winnipeg and later CIBC in Fisher Branch. In 1958 she met Tony Bouchard whom she married in 1960. Together they had four children. During their marriage they lived in Letellier, Killarney, and finally resided in Portage la Prairie for the last 38 years.

During her life, Yvonne was actively involved in her community in various clubs and organizations. She developed many close friendships while bowling in the women's 10 pin league, curling for many years in the ladies evening league, and later the mixed Burnside curling league. Golfing at Southport in the ladies league was a favourite summer pastime.

Yvonne was extremely proud to receive a service pin from the Catholic Women's League for her contributions over her 45 years of membership. She was actively involved in the church as a Eucharistic Minister and served in several other ministries. She volunteered with the Portage Soup Kitchen and especially enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Yvonne's passion in life was her family; whether she was preparing meals, baking, or attending her children and grandchildren's extra curricular activities. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans for many of her loved ones. Many good friends were made while traveling throughout Canada, the US, Europe, Fiji and Australia.

Yvonne's distinctive personality and sense of humor will be missed by all those that she touched in her lifetime.

Prayers will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Friday evening, November 12, 2010 at 7:00 pm led by Deacon Bill Parrack. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Celebrant Father Eric Giddins.

As expressions of sympathy if friends so wish, donations may be made in Yvonne's memory to Good Shepherd Parish Building Fund, 114 Countess Ave, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N OT2 or to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Sask. Ave.E, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N OK8.
