May 25, 1944 – July 31, 2016

Bill Kennedy aged 72 years, beloved husband of Sharon Kennedy passed away with family by his side at the Portage District General Hospital.

Bill is survived by his wife Sharon; three children Lynn (Keith) Anderson; Lori (Carl) Neudorf and Don (Araiden) Kennedy; grandchildren Ashleigh (Dustin), Karaleigh (Bradley), Mitchell, Drew, Kaelyn, Brett, Darius and Reanna.  He is also survived by his sister Alice Grant, brother-in-law Harold (Lynne) Jackson and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Marjorie; brother Robert; brother-in-law Jack and parents-in-law Pearl and Cecil Jackson.

Bill was born on May 25, 1944 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB.  He was the first son born to Harold and Marjorie Kenendy.  Bill lived in Oakville, MB all his life.

On November 28, 1966 dad married his love of his life Sharon Kennedy (nee Jackson) at the United Church in Oakville.  Dad and Mom built their forever home together in Oakville, MB.  In the early 1970 they began their family of three children.

Dad worked his whole life in the automotive industry, starting as a mechanic and ending 30 years with GM as a salesman with Shyiak Chev Olds.  After having his own shop for 10 years and 1 wild winter in Alberta, Dad finished his work career with Simplot.

When he wasn’t working he enjoyed hunting deer and fishing as much as possible.  May have been a beer or two enjoyed as well.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Oakville Cemetery with a reception to follow at Silver Threads Senior Centre in Oakville, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.

The family would like to thank all the staff on the medical ward at Portage District General Hospital for all their care and compassion.  A special thanks to Dr. Jim Price
