Bill Davey, formerly of Westbourne, passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2018 at Douglas Campbell Lodge at the age of 96. He lived on the farm at Westbourne his entire life until moving to the Lodge following a stroke. He enjoyed his time at the Lodge, visiting with friends, participating in activities, and joking with the staff.
Bill married Arline Fawns of Gladstone on October 4, 1952. Although Bill devoted his life to the farm, he was always interested in the activities of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; including 4-H trips, horse and livestock shows, student exchanges and general growing up. He was greatly interested in the wildlife that surrounded him and always knew that Mother Nature would do her bidding. Bill was active in his home community, including the United Grain Growers, St. George's Anglican Church, and the Westbourne-Longburn Community Club. He instilled in his children the value of volunteering for your community.
Bill was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth (Jim) Poschenreider; brother Douglas (Gay); grandson Christopher Robert Davey and nephew Philip Davey.
Mourning his passing are his wife Arline; son Kenneth (granddaughter Michelle (Murray) Moran - great-grandchildren Grady and Oakley); daughter Patricia (Vern) Crandell (granddaughter Andrea (Jean Paul) Lefloch (great-grandchildren Madeleine and Emilie) and grandson David); son Robert (Jackie) (grandson Steven, grandson Timothy (Amber) (great-granddaughter Keirsten) and granddaughter Kaitlyn); daughter Heather (Bruce Gardiner); plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Westbourne Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Westbourne-Longburn Community Centre.
