The family later moved to Portage when Jack was in grade 10. He worked with his father at his service station in Portage. The majority of his working years were spent as an automotive mechanic. He had many talents and was a jack of all trades. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends during hunting and fishing seasons. Jack enjoyed following his boys around with ball and hockey and coached his son’s fall for a number of years. He was very proud of his boys and their accomplishments. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed visiting with anyone that would take a few minutes to chat. His sense of humour was contagious, and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
