William Glenn Carlson

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 13, 2012. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Murray and Ottilie (Toews) Carlson; sister Karen and infant brother Grant; sister-in-law Dena Sonley and brothers-in-law Stewart Sonley and Duncan Wheatley.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Joyce (Wall) of Portage la Prairie, daughters Deb (Wayne) McNaughton of Sylvan Lake, AB; Lori (Dave) Judson of Portage la Prairie; Marilyn (Ron) Schmitke of Stony Plain, AB; grandchildren Jeri McNaughton (Evan), Ryan McNaughton, Neil, Kyle, Janine and Owen Schmitke; and great granddaughter Taylor; sister Ardythe Hannah of Bellingham, WA, brothers Cal (Shirley) Carlson of Winnipeg, Lee (Peter) Carlson of Toronto, ON, and Gerry (Karen) Carlson of Banff, AB; sister-in-law Lois Wheatley of Wawa, ON; and brother-in-law Terry (Ruth) Wall of Winnipeg, MB along with many special nieces and nephews.

Glenn will be remembered as honest, patient and giving. He was a family man first, and was very proud of the home and life that he and Joyce built together. He enjoyed many travel adventures and hobbies, from camping and diving to photography and writing. At home, countless hours were spent on woodworking projects for his family. When he wasn't busy on a project, he could always be found reading a book.

Glenn led an exceptionally full life and is without a doubt, respected by many. His most important legacy he leaves is his family and the love they share.

A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at McKenzie United Church, 85 a�" 11th Street Portage la Prairie.
