With heavy hearts we sadly share with you, our mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, who passed on to the Spirit World. We take comfort in knowing that she will be embraced by the Creator, and our late father, George Daniels and our relatives in that sacred place. Her life came full circle coming into this world on March 27th and being laid to rest on this date as well. She will be laid to rest at the Short Bear Burial Grounds. Ni-you-gin-a-beek's family circle includes, her mother Grace Daniels; companion Errol Olson; mother-in-law Diane; her children Tina, Tracy(Nathon), Rusty, Rene, Jody and Jessie; she adored her grandchildren Gracie, Colin, Chloe, Joshua, Makayla, Kiara, Tina, Chante', Harmony, Amelia & Ahybree; her siblings Patsy, Ernie, Marlene, Dave (Evangeline), Ruth (Ralph), Linda, Irvin, Tony, Lizzie, Jacqueline (Clarence), Lydia, Yvette & Yvonne and Kirby (Rene) and numerous beloved nieces & nephews and extended grandnieces & nephews.
Ni-you-gin-a-beek loved all her aunties, uncles and cousins, too numerous to mention. She had many cherished friends, and her family considers all her friends honorary pall barriers. Active Pall Barriers: Tim Daniels, Karl Peters, Ralph Roulette Jr., Adam Daniels, Neil Daniels, Sonny Perswain, Sage Daniels, Preston Pashe, Colten Pratt, and Nelson Bunn. Fire keepers: the remaining nephews. Feast Preparation: all her nieces.
We are grateful to all that helped on Ni-you-gin-a-beek's healing path and with preparing her journey to be with our Creator.
Megwetch, Peter Kinew, Frank Austin a" Many Horses, Keith Pashe, Dr Finnie, Dr Lotoki, Dr Dean, Dr Krepart, Dr Ong, Nurse Debbie, Cancer Care, the awesome nurses, aides, staff 5th Floor Woman's Pavilion, Aboriginal Workers at the HSC and PTG Gen Hospital Staff, Long Plain Chief & Councils, Dakota Tipi First Nation, Fredia John, Donna Meeches, Connie Meeches, Lorraine Cook, Chuck Marshal, and all the family & friends who prayed for Ni-you-gin-a-beek.
Wanda's beautiful smile and cheerful disposition brightened the world and the lives she came to contact with. She had pride & joy in taking care of her home & yard and expressed her love for all living things, plants, star gazing, birds, animals including her beloved pet dog, Bear.
She would remind us and say "send your love and forgive them," and she would encourage us "send your Angels ahead of you to clear your path." She found a friend and mentor in Frank Austin ~ Many Horses ~ who taught her these simple rules to live by.
"Love is the most powerful healing tool in the Universe" these were the words she practiced in her young lifetime. In her last few years she read many books on the life of Son of God and wanted to understand the sacrifice, healing, and teachings of Jesus Christ. She studied the sacred energy and also the healing power of sacred water. Like our parents and grandparents she embraced both Traditional and Christian Faiths.
She took peaceful walks down "the hill" where she found time to pray. Oh what beautiful footprints she left for her grandchildren to follow! She was thankful for all the goodness and kindness she blessed with.
We are certain that she carried within her the faith in her heart that Creator and all our relatives in that sacred place called Heaven, said to her, Welcome Home My Child! It is good to see you!
Great Spirit Prayer
"Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, Whose breath gives life to all the world. Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Help me to remain calm and strong in the face of all that comes towards me.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. Help me seek pure thoughts and act with the intention of helping others. Help me find compassion without empathy overwhelming me. I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy Myself.
Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes. So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.
