Peacefully, on September 12, 2016, Walter Bicanic passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 62 years.
Walter will be missed by his Apartment Living program staff, past support staff, and many friends.
Walter lived at the Manitoba Developmental Centre before moving into his own apartment in Portage la Prairie, MB. Many may remember Walter from his work with Resident Employment Services or S.A.M. Inc. Friends will remember him spending time at Tornado’s or his favourite pastime - smoking.
Funeral Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm followed by interment at Green Acres Cemetery in Winnipeg, MB.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Walter’s memory to The Portage District Hospital Foundation, 524 – 5th St. SE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3A8.
