With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Wallace Rennie Hiebert on July 9, 2015. Wally passed away at Kildonan Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his family by his side.
Wally will be sadly missed by his daughters Carrie and Jill (Darren), granddaughters Natasha (Scott), Shyann (Alys), Jamie and Kati. His sisters Wilna (Russell), Vera, Phyllis, as well as Gwen, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Wally was predeceased by his father Peter Hiebert, his mother Irene Hiebert and brother-in-law John Davis.
Wally was born October 3rd 1936. Wally lived in St.Ambroise and St.Marks his whole life, fishing, farming, trucking and hunting. Wally travelled around Manitoba for many years playing his guitar at functions and dances. It was one of his true joys in life along with the Montreal Canadians and New York Yankees. He spent countless hours watching "the habs" play hockey, missing the ole guys like Guy Lafleur.
A small memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Sunday, July 12th 2015 from 7-9 pm at McKenzie’s Portage Funeral Chapel, Portage la Prairie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
