It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Vaughn Williams on May 15, 2017.

Vaughn is survived by sisters Patty Williams and Sandra (Dave) Lambert; brothers Blake (Pat) and Scott; sister-in-law Sharon; nieces and nephews Adam (Raegan), Brian (Lisa), Leanne, Ashley and Evan and great nieces Veronica and Aerial.  Also left to cherish his memory are Val McCorrister and her children Brett (Dominique) and Michelle (Marshal); special friends Bud, Rose and Wendy.  Vaughn had many close friends and co-workers.

He was predeceased by his parents Vernon “Bunny” and Evelyn Williams and infant sister Darlene.

He was born on January 24, 1961 in Portage la Prairie and graduated from Arthur Meighen in 1979.  Following high school he began a career with the City of Portage for over 30 years.  Vaughn loved motorcycles and owned several Harley Davidsons over the years.

Vaughn was a great neighbour, even winning the “Good Neighbour” award in 2013 as nominated by his Goodale Dr. neighbours.  He was willing to help anyone – no was not part of his vocabulary.  He was very smart and could fix anything.

Friends are invited to a time of viewing and visitation on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.  A private family burial will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Should friends so wish, donations in memory of Vaughn may be made to Maple Grove Cemetery.
