With great sadness we announce that Tyler James Zalusky passed away on February 4, 2024, with his family by his side at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 28 years.
Left to treasure his memory are his mom Kim James (Kristin) of Portage la Prairie; dad Dale Zalusky (Melissa) of Portage; partner Chelsey Bousquet; siblings Cole (Amy) Zalusky, Paige Bulachowski and Ryder Zalusky all of Portage; grandmas Valerie James and Bev Zalusky; uncle Travis (Lori) James with cousins Seth and Mia; aunt Debbie (Tim) Baylis with cousins Christopher and Breanne. Tyler was predeceased by his grandpas Stan James and Don Zalusky.
Tyler was born in Portage on November 24, 1995, at 09:06 am. He attended Yellowquill School and Portage Collegiate. Tyler had a quiet personality as a child. He developed many childhood friends at Yellowquill, who remained friends with into his adult life. One of these friends was his best friend Liam Haddad. They had many memories camping as kids. His other best friend was his brother Cole. Tyler and Cole shared a lot of memories and similarities from growing up skateboarding, playing games, and going to the gym. They also shared a passion for working on the Railroad together.
Tyler had a very close relationship with his grandparents. My dad and him were like two peas in a pod. Many fond memories my mom has, including when he lived with them and helped my mom look after my dad. Mom and Dad were both my boys’ biggest fans. He had a special relationship with grandma Bev and would plan coffee dates and pizza suppers with her. She cherishes those memories and the laughs they shared with each other.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Army & Navy from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. Please reach out to Kim or Cole if you plan to attend.
To honour Ty and his passion for fitness, dedicate your next workout to him and share on tik tok or any social medial platform.

Missing You Always
You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.
In life I love you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart I hold a place
That only you can fill.
Love Grams
