With sadness we announce the passing of Trevor Lambert on January 9th, 2025 at the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 88 years.
Trevor was born in Welwyn, SK and later moved to Carberry, MB. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brandon University, where he met his future wife. Trevor and Rhoda were married in 1963, and not long after they moved to Winnipeg, where he received his master’s degree in social work from the U of M. They lived for several years in Swan River, MB before settling in Portage la Prairie, MB. Trevor worked as a Social Worker for many years, including a time at Brandon Mental Health Centre. Trevor had a passion for playing the bagpipes and played with the CFB Portage Pipes and Drums. He was fortunate to play with them in many places across Europe, Canada and the United States. Later in life, Trevor became involved in the Masonic Lodge in Portage, where he rose to the level of Grand Master, and was the lodge historian for many years. Trevor enjoyed history, travelling and spending time with his family.
Trevor is survived by his son Derek (Louise Valcourt), grandchildren Meagan, Callie and Graham and sister Jean Welch.
He was predeceased by his wife Rhoda (nee West), daughter Heather Kocuiba and parents Marge and Mel Lambert.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Trevor’s memory to the Humane Society.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00pm at St. Mary’s la Prairie Anglican Church. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
