Timothy Robert Norman

Peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, Tim Norman passed away with his children by his side at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 57 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Michael (Kitrina) King and Mandy (Nichole) Costley; granddaughter Hazel Costley-Glover, all of Portage, MB; siblings Debbie Norman of Portage, Bev Piebenga of Gibson, BC, Donna (Bernie) Norman of Winnipeg, John (Patti) of Glenboro and Linda McElwee of Nelson BC;  parents Tom and Marj Norman; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Everyone who knew Tim was touched by his kindness and patience and graciously tolerated his humour. He was a devoted father who loved his children unconditionally. Tim was happiest spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He loved to travel, could renovate a house from top to bottom, and was president of the Doctor Who fan club. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

The family would like to thank Dr. Finney, all the staff at Central Plains Cancer Services, and a special thank-you to all the nurses at the Portage District General Hospital for all their care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to a Come and Go gathering to remember Tim’s life on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.

If friends so wish, donations may be made in Tim’s memory to Central Plains Cancer Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8.
