Timonthy Edward Carmichael

Tim “Chaskey” Carmichael, aged 66, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.  

Born on November 13, 1957, Timothy was a resident of Portage la Prairie most of his life, but spent his last few years with his kids in St. Claude, MB. He was the cherished son of the late Ronald Edward Carmichael and Audrey Donna Munro, and a beloved brother to his late siblings Chris, Brodie, and Rhonda and late nephew Tyler. Also, his special friends Terry Myran and Lawrance Gladue predeceased him. Timothy's life was marked by a profound love for the outdoors, which was reflected in his passion for sledding in the winter, camping around bonfires in the summer, and exploring the back roads. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, especially enjoying these activities with his son Brodie. His daughter Raina brought joy to his life through long drives and daily coffee visits, which typically began at his daughter-in-law Alishia's home and ended at his son-in-law Jay's. Above all, Timothy adored his grandchildren Ryder, Ivy, Carver, and Braxton whose presence brought him immense pride and happiness. Professionally, Timothy dedicated many years to working at the local mushroom plant outside of Portage and later for his close friends, Sam and Karen. Timothy leaves behind his loving daughter Raina and her husband Jay, along with their children Ryder, Ivy, and Carver; his son Brodie and partner Alishia, and their child Braxton; and niece (Vanna) who was more like a daughter. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.  

Visitation and viewing will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Tim’s life will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
