Tim Tait

"Out out brief candle.."

Peacefully on the morning of Saturday, February 1, 2014 Tim Tait passed away with family by his side at the age of 64 years at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Tim leaves to survive his devoted and loving wife of 38 years Kathy; son Kris (Shauna); daughters Sarah (Jay) Gray, Amber (Aaron Hutchings) and Ashley; grandchildren Layla, Marley and Cooper and “brother” Jack.  Tim will be greatly missed by many.

He was deeply respected by former students and was admired by education colleagues. Tim always brought an interesting sense of humour to those he was interacting with, especially to the health care workers who cared for him and treated him with kindness on a daily basis. One of Tim’s favourite things to do at impromptu times was to recite poems. One in particular that he loved was called Daffodils by William Wordsworth and it goes something like this:

I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.

Dad you filled our hearts and our days with pleasure and we will miss you every day. You meant the world to us.

In compliance with Tim’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A small gathering will be held outside in the summer on Angle Road at the house to celebrate his life and his passion for spending time outdoors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba – Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1A7 or Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Suite 100-1465 Buffalo Place Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 1L8.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.  204-857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
