Thomas Cornell
Peacefully at his residence on Saturday, January 2, 2016, Tom Cornell passed away at the age of 76 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Carol (Tony) Houle, grandchildren Shyla and Logan, and many friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents Bob and Pearl Cornell, brother Bob Cornell, and longtime partner Elaine (Claude) Dubois.
Tom, Elaine and Carol came to Oakville in the mid 1980’s/ Tom drove truck for Campbell’s Soup until they closed. Working at Campbell’s Soup sparked an interest in collecting many items to do with the company. Tom loved to go to antique shops and thrift stores. He would share fond memories of the lake (and Thunder Bay) where he grew up. Tom would tell the stories to make you feel as you were there with him. He enjoyed living in Oakville, and all the people he was proud to call his friends. Tom was a kind man with a big heart and he will be sadly missed.
As per Tom’s request a private family viewing will take place followed by cremation. Burial will be held at a later date in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to The Lung Association of Manitoba, 629 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
