Susan Peters

With sadness we announce that Susan Peters began her journey to the spirit world on Monday, July 31, 2023 in Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB at the age of 88 years.

Left to cherish Susan’s memory are her children Julianna Whitehawk, Clarence Peters, Calvin Peters, Lawrence (Delphine) Peters and Marcella Dodd, stepsons Henry Mousseau (Shirleen) and Randy Mousseau (Angela) as well as numerous family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Peters and children Alice, Jimmy and William Lincoln.

Susan had a nurturing, healing and kind nature. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. Her work ethic was strong and she could often be found working hard at something and keeping busy. Helping others was important to her and she took great care of those she loved.

Most of all Susan had a special love for children, she had so much joy when a new baby would be born into the family.  She would hold our family babies in her arms for hours, rocking them, and speak to them in our language. Her sweet, gentle and loving spirit will be missed by many.

Wake will take place at Julianna Whitehawk’s residence, 146 Split Rock Trail S., on Thursday, August 3, 2023 beginning at 4:00 pm.  Feast and Ceremony will be held at Julianna’s residence on Friday, August 4, 2023 at noon followed by burial at the Yellowquill Cemetery.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.  www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
