Steven "Boss" Smith

With sadness we announce that Steven “Boss” Smith, our beloved son, brother, father, husband, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away on July 2nd, 2018 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 29 years.

Left to mourn his memory are his parents Donnie Richard Sr. and Anne Smith, siblings Christi Smith (Leon), Tammy Smith (Geordon), Donnie Smith Jr. (Sav) and Aaron Smith (Shannel), half siblings Evan Roulette, Crystal Roulette (Ryan), Alanna Roulette and William Beaulieu, his wife Sandy Katcheconias, children Jordan, Natrina, Nathan, Marjorie, Seth, Alexis, Mercedes, Tyrell Katcheconias & Keyshia and Darius Smith.  Also left to cherish Boss’ memory are numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Boss was predeceased by his great grandparents Margaret Smith and John Smith, grandparents William George Richard and Margaret Richard, grandmother Lorna Smith, great uncles Walter Smith and Morley Smith, great aunt Mary Smith and numerous other great aunts and uncles, uncles Vincent Smith,  Raymond Richard, John Roulette and Isaac Richard, aunts Wanda Richard and Sonya Richard, cousins Vanessa Richard, Crystal Richard, John John Richard and Faline Linklater and his daughter Cassandra Katcheconias.

Steven grew up in MacGregor and attended school there until he moved to Long Plain school and also did some high school in Portage.  Boss loved playing his PS4 and gaming online, and also enjoyed listening to his pow-wow music.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He liked to lounge on the couch watching movies or texting his friends.  You never saw Boss without his phone.  Boss always helped everyone as much as he could.  He was loving and kind, and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.  He was one of a kind.

Two day wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Feast and Ceremony will  be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge at noon.
