Sheila Anne Swain - Wilson

With sadness we announce that Sheila Swain-Wilson passed away on April 8, 2023 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 71 years.

Sheila will be lovingly remembered by her son Cory Wilson, sister Hazel (Gordie) Stewart, nephews Todd (Amanda), Gordie (Lisa), Scott (Robyn) and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Floyd Swain and Joan Swain.

Sheila graduated with an RPN degree in 1972. She spent 35 years of her life helping others have better lives at the MDC unit until she retired in 2006. During those years, Sheila loved the outdoors, taking yearly camping trips to the Rocky Mountains, riding her motorcycle to Thunder Bay, fishing at Asessippi, and later bought a cottage at Big Point Resort. Sheila spent her retirement years gardening and took great pride in her lawn, with her dog Yoda by her side.

Sheila had a spark that few others have, and she will be missed by countless friends.

Private services will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Sheila’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.
