It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Anne Slate on Thursday August 18, 2016 at the age of 52.

A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Church, led by Rev. Beth Kerr.  A private family interment will take place at St. Margaret’s Anglican Cemetery.

Predeceased by her parents Roger Williams & Jeanette Slate, brother Derek & special friend Gerald Hillman. Ruth leaves to mourn her passing 2 beautiful daughters Ginte & Emily, and her chosen sisters; Traci Webb (Tracey Spearing) & family, Joanne & Todd Beach & family, Kim & Robert Richards & family, Debbie Steuart (Brad Burnell) & family, Penny & Kevin Donald & family, Laura Jackson (Graham Saxon) & family, Cindy Houle & family, Lorie Nelson & family.

Ruth was born March 7, 1964 in New Westminster, BC. The family moved often, finally establishing roots in Portage in 1976. Ruth made friends wherever she went, and would give what she could to whomever needed it most. She had an amazing ability to find that silver lining in any situation & always saw the best in everyone. She was an amazing mother & an exceptional friend/sister who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

We would like to thank our friends for all their well wishes, encouraging words, and gentle hugs throughout our journey.

Thank you to all the medical professionals we've met along the way, and  an extra special thank you to Dr. Jim Price, Dr. Brett Finney, and the PDGH Surgical team for your comfort & support!
