Rhoda Mae Lambert

With sadness we announce the passing of Rhoda Mae Lambert on August 31, 2023 at Lions Manor in Portage la Prairie at the age of 83.

Rhoda is lovingly remembered by her husband Trevor Lambert, her son Derek (Louise) Lambert, grandchildren Callie, Graham and Meagan, her brother Ronald (Helen) West and extended family. Rhoda was predeceased by her daughter Heather Kocuiba.

Rhoda was born in Minnedosa and grew up on a farm in Clanwilliam, Manitoba where she attended grade school, and then high school in Minnedosa. From an early age, Rhoda was an avid reader and aspired to become a teacher. She received her Bachelor of Education from Brandon University, where she met her husband, Trevor. Trevor and Rhoda married in 1963 and had two children. Rhoda taught various grades; however her favourite was teaching kindergarten at Crescentview in Portage. Rhoda was a member of the University Women’s Club, and an active member of St Mary's Anglican church where she sang in the choir. She loved spending time with her grandkids and her dogs, gardening, going for walks and reading.

A funeral service will be held at St Mary's La Prairie Anglican Church, 36 2nd St. SW, Portage la Prairie, MB on Friday September 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm, led by Rev. John Dolloff. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Rhoda's memory to the Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
