Regina Evelyn Clara Cochrane
(nee Harens)
Peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 Regina Cochrane passed away in her residence at Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 97 years.
Regina was born March 29, 1914, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Harens. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1988. Regina leaves to mourn her passing son George (Judith); granddaughters Dawn (Dean) Moxham, Shauna Thomson, Dana (Joel) Barta and Mikki (Mark) Hanson; 10 great grandchildren; brothers William Harens and Charles (Darlene)Harens; sister Helen (Ernest) Slanga; many nieces and nephews and their families.
Regina was a member of St John's Roman Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, member of St John's Council of Catholic Women's League for over 40 years and past member of Poplar Point Horticultural Society. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.
Prayers will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm led by Deacon Bill Parrack. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Church led by Father Eric Giddins. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the service and Regina's cremains will be buried in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Regina's memory to Children's Wish Foundation, Portage Regional Committee, Box 1106, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3C5 or to a charity of your choice.
