Philip passed away after a brief hospital stay.  Philip was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Winnipeg and Boissevain.  At 6 years old he moved to Portage la Prairie and resided at the Manitoba Developmental Centre for 45 years.  In 2015 Philip moved to Visions of Independence on Royal Road where he could enjoy life with his housemates Kenny and Kelly.

Philip had a love for music and often enjoyed sitting quietly in his room listening.

He also enjoyed sitting outside in the summer and visiting with those around him.  He was happy to sit with his hands folded and take in life but he also could be quite loud when he wanted to get your attention.  Philip liked to sit in the sunshine and will be remembered for turning his face to let the sun rays fall over him.

A hush falls in the wee, dark hours of the night.

A calmness transcends as if the whole world

heard you say goodbye.

The cries you sent have quietly vanished.

You are at peace and it is known in the

quietness of the day.

With love you were cared for,

many people shed tears from their heart.

The world we know has a new silence.

Philip we will miss you.

A new hush has fallen.

We will remember you.
