Paul Henry Girard
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful." Timothy 4:7
It is with a heavy heart that our family shares Paul Henry Girard surrounded by family, left this world and entered Heaven on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Toronto General Hospital. Paul Henry was 37 years old.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Shannon Girard; children: Isaiah Girard, Paul Girard Jr & Declan Girard; parents: Arthur Girard (Ann Girard) & Dianne Borutski (Chris Borutski); siblings: Patricia Beland & Zachary Borutski, and many extended family and friends.
Paul was born in Espanola, ON and during his childhood resided in Espanola, Elliot Lake and Sault Ste. Marie. He met Shannon in 2000 and they were married in 2002. Paul graduated from Business Insurance at Fanshawe College in 2005. Paul’s greatest achievement in this life was being a father. He was always right that he would only have boys and Isaiah was born in 2005, Paul Jr 2006 and Declan in 2010.
Paul loved Jesus above all else and his journey touched the lives of many, His favourite bible verses were the following:
"Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
"For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live." Philippians 1:21-24
Despite health struggles over the years Paul was a fighter and determined to be always be positive. He was always seen smiling and encouraging those around him. His sense of humor and ability to see the best in all situations was a testimony of his strong character. Paul was passionate about organ donation and encouraged all to sign their donor cards. He was a true example of living life to its fullest despite his health.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at Newton Community Fellowship Church at 1:00pm.
