Pamela Peters

“Agaasin Asin Ikwe – Small Stone Woman”

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, Pamela Peters on December 14, 2022 at the age of 48 years.

Pamela will be greatly missed by her children, Nathan (Tasey), Isabella, Payton, Marlena and Phillip who she raised since birth. Her brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Pamela was predeceased by her son; Johnathan, her parents; Noel Joseph and Marlene Peters, baby brother; Joe, nieces; Mylee Day and Ashley Longclaws, grandparents; Herbie and Violet Peters & George and Grace Daniels.

Pamela was an outgoing person with a very bubbly personality, a friend to many and she was quite the story teller. She loved to visit with her family and friends, especially loved spending time with her children. She really enjoyed her visits with Auntie Ivy. Pamela grew up in Long Plain First Nation. She eventually moved to Winnipeg where she took her health care aide and graduated in 2004. She moved back to Long Plain in 2012 to be closer to her family. Pamela was a Sun-dancer and enjoyed watching & attending the Sun Dance.

The family would like to thank GB3 Ward at the Health Science Centre, Auntie Jackie, those that came by and visited her in the hospital, Long Plain Public Works, fire keepers, grave diggers, cooks, Dennis Meeches and North Eagle Singers, Long Plain First Nation and McKenzies Funeral Home.

Wake will take place at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Monday, December 19, 2022 beginning at 4:00 pm.  Feast and Traditional Service will be held at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at noon. Burial will follow at the Peters Resting Place.  Pallbearers are Karl Peters, Little Joe, Dennis Peters, Cory Peters, Conway Peters, Derrick Myran, Adam Daniels and Eddy Bunn. Honorary Pallbearers are Brother Bob and Family & Friends.
