Owen James Nodrick

With grievous heart we announce the death of Owen James Nodrick.

Owen (son of Dennis and Patty Nodrick) was born in Portage la Prairie on March 4, 1986. He received his primary education in Portage la Prairie and graduated from Arthur Meighan High school in 2004.

When well, Owen had a zest for life. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed and excelled at “life on the links” as well as on the ice. He had “a thing for numbers” and loved listening to music. (So much so that when catchy lyrics caught his attention, would listen and sing to the same song over and over again.)

More than anything Owen loved family and friendships.

Predeceased by his father Dennis and other family, Owen leaves to mourn his mother Patty; brother Darren (Courtney and Ila); Gramma Sherrill; Kelly and Lou (Keegan, Bret, Josh, Joey and Jace); Carol and Malcolm. 

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
