On Monday, March 28, 2011, Nora Peters beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully in her sleep.
She was predeceased by her mother Alice Cameron, father Johnny Martin, brother Robert Cameron, sister Lucy Jane Cameron, two infants sons and granddaughter Vanity Peters. She leaves to mourn her special friend Mervin Peters; eight children Arlene (Rex), Eric (Rose), Darrell (Shaz), Randy, Laura, Aaron, Molly and Lana (Ed); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Joe Martin (Emma) and Phillip Martin (Thelma Jean) and sisters Maggie McKinney (George), Doreen Doucette (Ed) and Vickie Cameron (Jim) and their families.
Nora was born in Swan Lake, Manitoba and was educated in the Portage Residential School. Mom lived in Long Plain, Morden, Portage before settling in the Long Plain Complex. She enjoyed Bingo, puzzles, making bannock, cooking for people but her greatest joy was her family and grandkids. She will be sadly missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to invite everyone to join in celebrating Nora's life at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Thursday, March 31, 2011 for her Wake and on Friday, April 1, 2011 for the Traditional Feast starting at 12 noon at the Spirit Lodge with Elder Charlie Nelson. Interment will take place at Long Plain Cemetery.
The Pallbearers will be Timothy Peters, Darrell Peters, Mitchell Gale, Alex Gale, Fabien Peters and Eric Kristjanssen. Honourary Pallbearers are Nora's daughters and grandchildren. The service will be led by Ministers Peter and Sheila Yellowquill.
