With great sadness we announce that Melodie Faye Daniels began her journey to the spirit world on November 1, 2018 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 31 years.
Left to mourn Melodie’s passing are her mom Ivy, dad Brian (Linda), sons Kashtin and Sage, sisters Kathryn (Dion) and Carmen, nephews Jonas, Nathaniel and Baby Mac, aunties & uncles Rita, Jane, Lesley, Lisa, Doug, Donovan and Ken S., great-aunties Donna and Eleanor and the father of her children Lucien “Looch”, as well as many cousins and friends.
Melodie was predeceased by her grandparents Gladys , Herbie, Lillian and Doug, aunties Doreen and Debbie, uncle Morris, and special cousin Roxy.
Melodie grew up in Long Plain First Nation, and was loved by many. As a child, she wa a champion traditional dancer and she inspired many with her old style of dance. True to her name, she had a strong love of music. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and carried a strong sense of loyalty to others. Melodie will be known for the love she carried for her children. We will miss her sense of humor, stories and the memories she shared with us. Melodie will always be a strong spirit... We love you.
Wake will be held at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 beginning at 4:00 pm. Feast and ceremony will be held at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 beginning at noon. Interment will take place at Dauphin Myran Cemetery.
