Matilda Myria Spence

After a short illness, Matilda Spence entered the Spirit World on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Stephanie (Merlin); granddaughters Kristan (Glen), Morissa (Greg), Kiana, Dakota (Harvey) and Elizabeth; great grandchildren “Jabans” Julius, Krosby, Sonniyah, Charlee, Theodore, Taylor, Stephanie, Jayce, Mason, Merrick and Korbin ; siblings Oliver aka Stanley (Harriet) and Nellie Rayne; sisters-in-law Martha and Doris; nephews Matthew “Chucky” and Robbie; niece Crystal Fisk; life long friend Patrick Martin; very special friend and adopted sister Margaret Ferland along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She had a very special bond with her Kristy Bear (Kristan) and her Baby Boy (Julius).

She was predeceased by her daughter Valentina “Tina” Spence; siblings Albert, John George (Emmerine), Johnny, Eli, Jemima, Virginia, Walter and Edna Fisk along with her parents Caroline Gray and Andrew Spence.

Matilda loved spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed going for walks and sitting outside watching her babies play. She loved listening to music and often played the guitar.  One of her best qualities was helping others.  She was kind and sweet and always talked up a storm to anyone she encountered.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses for all the help, support and care they gave our mama bear.

We will miss her dearly.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 2:00.  Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
