Throughout her life Evelyn enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning preserves, the outdoors and sightseeing trips with Dad.  She also enjoyed travelling to Pow-wows and listening to Pow-wow music at home.  Her family, friends and grandchildren have fond memories of her storytelling which always brought everyone lots of laughter.  In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cards and scrabble with Dad.  She loved to travel and took many trips to Connecticut, Santa Fe, Minneapolis, Ontario, Calgary, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia.  She was a residential school survivor, but she did not let it stop her from living life fully.  She returned to school at the age of 50 years and graduated with honors from RRCC in 1999 from Early Childhood Educator II.  She made history at RRCC by being the only aboriginal parent to graduate along with three of her daughters on the same day.

Mom made such an impact on all who knew and loved her and will be deeply missed.
