Mary Elizabeth Vogt

November 20, 1927 - September 24, 2011

On Saturday September 24th Mary Elizabeth Vogt passed away at the Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

Mary had a full long life of 83 years. She was born in Silver Manitoba, child of Peter and Jennie Boyko. Mary had a fine life as a child with four close siblings Nicolas, Michael, Bill and Annie. Mary lived her early life in Manitoba, then moved to Alberta. Mary married Henry P.Vogt in Manitoba, and they had many happy, fun filled years together. Mary adopted two babies whom she loved from first sight. Mary raised Judith Susanne Marie and Douglas Peter with all the love of a mother full of endless devotion. Mary was very close to her family and when her children were young adults and living on their own, she moved back to Manitoba to take care of her mother, sister and brother, whom she loved.

Mary loved to travel, and did so extensively in North America. In 1986 she traveled to Europe with friends and also to see her son in London, England. She loved these adventures and her curiosity was one of her strengths. Mary would love us to thank her Manitoba nieces, nephews and family for all their help especially Theresa, Dennis and Gordie. Mary will always be remembered for her kind heart and generosity. This she showed to all. She will be dearly missed.

Mary is survived by her brother Bill, her children Judy and Doug, grandchildren Jackie, Shelly, Darren, Naima, Savannah and Kira, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel (56 Royal Rd. South, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba). Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
