Mary Thelma Prince

“Malagee”  

Mary Thelma Prince was born in Sandy Bay First Nation on December 11th, 1944.She passed into the spirit world in her home in Winnipeg on June 19th, 2024.

She is predeceased by her parents Sarah Prince and Stanley Smith, her daughter Nancy, and her great-grandson Bryce. Sisters Iona, Florence, Angele, Margaret. Brothers Donald, Stanley George (Jinx), and Arthur. She is survived by her brothers James, Orval, and sister Ella.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her partner Brian Spencer, as well as her 7 Children; Jeff (Rose), Kenneth, Micheal, Charlene (Jon), Theresa (Jim), Brenna (Robert), Jessica (Dwain), and Bryan. Her grandchildren she was proud to share her life with, Merritt, Tara, Brenna, Kevin, and Jacob plus 15 more grandchildren. And her greats. Blaise, Antoine, Leigh-Anna, Rylan, along with 29 more wonderful great-grandchildren.

Mary moved to Winnipeg in 1973 to work to support her growing family and completely enjoyed her work as a homemaker. Her clients made her feel like family and she loved them as such in return.

She also loved having visits with her family, children, grandchildren, and especially her greats as she had loved to call them. She was known as Ma, Mommy, Gran, and G.G to those who knew and loved her dearly.

Loved by many, she was always kind and giving. Her door was always open to those who needed a place to lay their heads. Her love touched everyone, her memory will last forever in all our hearts.

Viewing will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 6:00 – 10:00pm at Eternal Grace Funeral Home, 1111 Logan Ave, Winnipeg, MB. Wake will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, beginning at 4:00 pm at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Feast and ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2024, beginning at 12:00 pm at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge.
