Marjorie Jane Robinson

(nee Petheram)

On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, Marjorie Robinson passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84 years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charlie Robinson, parents William and Ethel Petheram and sister Barbara Schuweller.  Left to cherish her memory is her eldest son Bill “Dwight” of St. Albert, grandson Lance (Lynette) with great grandchildren Genevieve and Charlotte,  grandson Jason (Amanda) with great grandchildren Aiden and Ethan.  Mom's youngest son, Trevor (Lynnell) of Winnipeg and grandson Jordan.

Mom was born at Bowsman River, Mrs. Taylor’s Hospital.  She loved skating on the Bowsman River and living by the train tracks.  She married Charles Robinson at the United Church in Swan River on April 5, 1951.  They spent their lives moving with the CNR eventually settling in Swan River.  Mom loved working at the SAAN Store eventually becoming assistant manager.  She also loved her job at Woodies Bakery, though her proudest accomplishment was raising her two sons, who made her extremely proud. After retirement they travelled extensively but their favorite trip was to Hawaii for their 50th Anniversary.  Mom loved her day trips to the Casino.  After retirement they moved to Portage la Prairie and met many new friends where she lived until her passing.  Grandma enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends were invited for a time of visitation on Friday, December 7, 2013 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.  A private family interment took place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
