Marjorie Ruth Lenton

With family at her side, Marjorie Lenton of Portage la Prairie, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 92 years. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Fred and Hilda Lenton, brothers Wally (Margaret), Don (Elsie) and George (Margaret) and sisters Ethel (Lloyd) Lindsey and Mae (John) Neufeld.

Left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews.

Marge was born September 17, 1919 in Portage la Prairie. She started her career with clothing with Mr. G. Prior General Store for 18 years. Marge continued to work in the retail clothing business for 35 more years for Hollingsworth in Portage and Savannahs, Grays and Mariposa in Winnipeg, retiring at age 71. Marge enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing, YWCA and dinner theatres. In 2005 she returned to reside in Portage. Due to failing health she moved in 2009 into the Lions Prairie Manor until her passing.

Marge's nieces Debbie and Tracey and their families would like to extend a special thank you to all the Lions Prairie Manor nursing staff and all the Health Care Aides for their excellent care and support.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Lions Prairie Manor Chapel led by Rev. Brian Flower.

The pallbearers will be Kellie Copeland, Randy Copeland, Chris Gadway, Marc LeMay, Paul Martin, Randi Martin, Teegan Martin and Jeff Sing. Following the celebration the family will have a private burial in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Marge's memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc, 24 - 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Sask. Ave.E, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N OK8.
