Margaret 'Joyce' Morrison

We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Morrison on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 81 years.

Joyce was predeceased by nephew Davison Bowes. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Bill Morrison; sons Donald, Jim and Carl (Jen) Morrison; grandchildren Toni and Brandi; two great-grandsons; brother Alex (Judy) Stratton; sisters Betty (Brian) Bowes and Lynn (Gerry) Chabluk; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

As a young woman, Mom travelled Europe and Canada with Dad. When they settled in Portage they started a grass cutting company, then Mom started her own dog grooming company. She continued travelling Canada, showing her prized dogs, which gave her much joy. She would also travel for big curling events, she loved watching these and could tell you who all the curlers were.

Our wife, mother, sister and friend enjoyed life, and she will be missed greatly.

We would like to thank the staff at Portage District General Hospital for the excellent care she received.

A private family service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
