Peacefully, with family by her side, Margaret Garnham passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 81 years.

Mom was born on February 7, 1932 in Portage la Prairie.  Dad and her met and were married in July 1950.  They started their family the following year by having a set of twins, Alex and Alice.  Six years later they had their daughter Laura and completed their family with another son, Marcel who was born on their anniversary in July 1964.  More recently in life her constant companion was her dog Buddy.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents Alice and Albert Delorme and siblings Frankie, Alex, Albert, Alice, Melda, Doreen and Florence

Mom is survived by our dear father George Garnham who was married to her for almost 63 years; son Alex (Hermie Paw) Garnham of Burnaby, BC, daughter Alice (Les) Stienke of Winnipeg, MB, daughter Laura Letkeman of Winnipeg, MB, son Marcel Garnham of Portage la Prairie, MB; grandchildren Ted Steinke (Shannon), of Edmonton, AB, David Burns (Trevor) of Winnipeg, MB and Kyle Garnham of Langley, BC; siblings Joseph Delorme of Kenora, ON, Frieda (Lolly) Morrison of Kenora, ON and many nieces and nephews.

During her visits to the hospital and doctor’s appointments she loved to give the doctors a hard time.  And we can’t go without mentioning her friends who her and Dad enjoyed laughing and having coffee with at McDonalds.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 1:30 pm at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel with Deacon Bill Parrack officiating.  Interment is to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
