Peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2010, Margaret Chennells passed away in the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 93 years.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Lionel; parents Edwin and Rachel White; two sons, a daughter-in-law and a sister in infancy. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Phyllis (Ken) Marek of Portage la Prairie; sons Donald (Heather) Chennells of Winnipeg, Frank (Wendy) Chennells of Dundas, Ontario and David (Marilyn) Chennells of Teulon; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Margaret was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised in Nottingham Saskatchewan. She returned to Winnipeg after she married and raised her own family. Margaret was a life member of the St. James Legion in Winnipeg and the Honourary Director with the Madison Lodge in Winnipeg.
Service to celebrate Margaret's life was held at the Lions Prairie Manor Chapel, Portage la Prairie, MB on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:30 pm. The Venerable Norman Collier led the service. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 am.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Margaret's memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc, 24 - 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4.
