Mom passed away, April 19 2010 at the Portage General Hospital at the age of 83. She was predeceased by husband Ray and is survived by sons Larry (Marie), Wayne(Beth), And Ron(Marie); grandchildren Brandie (Roger), Leslie (Jason), Karen, Thomas, Michael, Rance, and Landa; great grandchildren Nikyla and Gavin; sister Grace, brother-in-law Les and former daughter-in-law Elaine.
Mabel grew up on a farm near Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. She trained to be a Registered Nurse at Medicine Hat Alberta where she met soon to be husband Ray. She nursed in many Hospitals including Edmonton, Shaunvon, and Portage, ending her career at Lions Manor. Mabel and Ray spent many winters in Arizona, and enjoyed camping in the summer. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, and we will miss her stories about nursing and her early married years with Ray.
