Louis Piasecki

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Louis Piasecki lost his long courageous battle with lung disease at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Louis is survived by his children Donna (Rene) Lafleche, Joseph (Judi) Piasecki and Paul (Jennifer) Piasecki, grandchildren, extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his wife Viola (Braun) in 1977, sons David Anthony at 4 months of age and James Gregory at 19 years of age and his parents Anthony Piasecki and Mary (Rice) Piasecki.

Louis was born on April 1, 1935 in Hamilton, ON.  At the age of nineteen, he joined the Airforce for 5 years from 1954-1959.  During that time he married Viola in 1957.  In 1960 they returned west to Winnipeg where Louis worked with his father-in-law in the road construction. Throughout his working years Louis had numerous employments where he worked on road construction, in real estate and as a Commissionaire.  He ended his work career working with the Manitoba Government as a security guard for the city of Portage la Prairie until he retired in 2000.  Louis spent the last 27 years in Portage la Prairie, with the last years battling multiple health conditions but always kept his sense of humour.  Louis would like to thank his kind friends Doug Garnham, Mike and Mary Hordesky in helping him during this time.

There will be no funeral service.
