Lorraine Beatrice McLeod (McDonald)

Peacefully on October 15, 2024, Lorraine McLeod passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 96 years. 

Lorraine was born on August 21, 1928, she spent most of her life on the family farm in Macdonald, where she raised her family. Her career years were working in Winnipeg. In 1952, she married Douglas McLeod, then farming for fifty years in the Longburn District. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, many seasons curling, flying farmer excursions and many other vacations. 

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband and best friend Douglas McLeod, parents Hartley and Lillian McDoanld, in-laws Roderick and Frances McLeod, sister and brother-in-law Janice and Lionel Thomas; as well as numerous cousins and friends. She leaves behind her son Marshall (Debra) with grandson Rod (Dana), son Greg (Deb) with granddaughter Jerilyn (Kris), great-grandsons Kendryk and Evan and granddaughter Morgan (Jordan), as well many nephews, cousins and friends. 

As per Lorraine’s request, a private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Columbarium. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lorraine’s memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc, 24 - 9th Street NE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or do something special for someone special in your life. 

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Lions Prairie Manor for their excellent care and compassion.
