Peacefully on Sunday August 25th, 2019 at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy, SK, Lora Turner passed away at the age of 90 years.

Left to Cherish her memories are her children: Donalda & (Ken) Taylor of Welwyn, SK, Irma & (Mike) Radawiec of Brandon, MB, Denyse & (Ralph) Jack of Spy Hill, SK, Mavis Sloik, Portage la Prairie, MB, Gerald & (Carrie) Link of Nanimo, BC, Joyce Link & (Larry Shurville) of Calgary, AB and Ron & (Dorothy) Link of Laurier, MB; grand-children: Charlotte Taylor(MartinBell), Scott (Holly) Taylor, Jason (Maureen) Radawiec, Anthony (Jocelyn) Radawiec),  Jeremy (Naomi) Radawiec, Sheena Delorme, Breanne Gaudley,  Katlyn Jack (Michael Antoneshyn), Dylan Jack (Katie Burke), Shawn (Marta) Switzer, Shannon (Doug) Bowers, Melissa (Jay) Barber, Christian Link (Wade Johnson), Jennifer (Cole) Dawson, Derek (Jen) Sharp,Amy (Jake) Bennett and Julie (Mike) Cool; great grand-children: Zen Taylor Bell, Zane Radawiec, Sofia Radawiec, Nathaniel Radawiec, Julian Radawiec, Brooklyn Delorme, Victoria Delorme, Angela Gaudley, Carter Link Johnson, Keenan Cool, Ava Cool, Dylan Sharp, Kaylee Sharp, Blaine Dawson, Ellis Dawson and Lexie Barber; siblings: Olive & (Bill) Ross of Toronto, ON, Marjorie Carter of Spy Hill, SK and Jim & (Ethel) Belhumeur of Welwyn, SK; sister/brother-in-laws: Faye Belhumeur of Saskatoon, SK, Darlene Belhumeur of Regina, SK and George Bittner of Esterhazy, SK; along with many numerous nieces and nephews.  Lora was predeceased by her infant daughter Elizabeth Link Oct.8, 1966; husbands:  Charlie Prescott, Leslie Link, William Turner and Doug Fraser; siblings and in-laws: Robert Belhumeur, Charlie & (Louise) Belhumeur, John & (Muriel) Belhumeur, Rene Belhumeur, Amable Jr. Belhumeur, Leo Belhumeur, Betrice Belhumeur, Gilda & (Walter) Williams, Rosine & (Howard) Dunn, Bertha Bittner and 2 infant siblings; parents:  Amable Belhumeur and Eugine Maria (nee Pelletier).

Lora was born on the Family Farm on May 9, 1929.  The first daughter of 16 siblings, a sparkle to her father’s eye.  Raising seven children though out her life-time, and blessed with 17 grand-children and 15 great grand-children, she was a mom, a friend, a sister and a loving wife.  She was a determined, hardworking, loving, prayerful lady.  She suffered great losses and overcame many hardships.  She was always there for her family, phoning and sending birthday cards no matter where she was.  She was a great cook not only at home but on the CNR Rail gangs, a seamstress, house keeper, and companion.  She loved to dance, travel and organize functions.  Animals were a part of her life, from her horse Buddy to her dachshund Dukie, plus numerous others.  Mom was Strong in her faith, open to prayer and praying for others, very active in her church.  Her determination was not easily rattled.  She started a Catholic Ladies group, belonged to Women’s Aglow and was active in World Day of Prayer.

The family would like to thank the Staff at Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home for the Love, Kindness and Care Given to Mom in her 5 years there.  Thank You!

A viewing and visitation will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019 followed by a Celebration of Lora’s Life at 2:00 pm, led by Wilma Shirriff.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Lora may be made to Prairie Welcome House,  1125 Saskatchewan Ave. E, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3Y8.
