Lloyd Irvine Maloney

June 14, 1934 a" November 29, 2012

After a lengthy illness, with his family by his side, Dad peacefully passed away with a strong faith in the Lord that we will meet again.

Dad was born on the family farm to Clarence and Viola (nee Miller) Maloney at Beautiful Valley. He received his education in an old one room schoolhouse there and then went on to the big school in Oakville. He left home at an early age, and went to work. Dad was a strong believer in the phrase "hard work never hurt anyone". He drove gravel truck with Arnold Mathies, took his power engineering course and worked 21 years in the powerhouse at the Manitoba Development Centre. But always his real love was farming which he did thoughout all his working days part time and then fulltime until illness forced his retirement. On May 28, 1960 he married Cecile Renard, the love of his life.

Dad was predeceased by his mother and father; his sister Vera and brother-in-law James Dickson; sisters-in-law Paulette Maloney and Donna Maloney; brothers-in-law Robert Lowdon, Ken Lowdon and Paul Renard.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Cecile, daughters Valerie (Grant) Bullock, Tracy (Garth) Bullock and Heather (Bill) Carruthers; grandchildren Charla Bullock (Jordon Isfeld), Lindsey (Mitchell) Leng, Danielle Bullock, Krystal (Cheney) Wright, Sarah (Shane) Osborne Richards, Erin (Tyson) Jordon, Holly Bullock ( Derek McLeod), Josh Bullock and Emma Bullock; great grandchildren Cassidy, Violet, Tristan, Olivia, Presley, Peyton and Ivy; brothers Joe Maloney, Ron (Lois) Maloney, sisters Lois Lowdon, Eunice (Laurie) Donald; sisters-in-law Pauline (Robert) Debusschere, Anita (Paul) Shepherd, Sharon Moar and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Lewis and the nursing staff at PDGH for the extra special care they gave Dad in ER and on Medical Unit and a very special housekeeper Gail for keeping his spirits up.

Prayers will be said on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 7:00 pm at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 am. There will be a private interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
