We regret to announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Chevrier on 22nd of May, 2019 at Treherne Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Left to mourn his passing is his beloved wife Denise Chevrier (nee Lesage) of Rathwell MB; children: son Andy (Janice) Chevrier (Stephanie, Chelsea (Jay), Jayde) of St. Claude, MB; daughter Laura (Lorne) Chevrier-Goodbrand (Tyler (Megan), Alyssa (Anthony) of Winnipeg, MB; son Lorne (Cheryl) Chevrier (Seth, Shelby, Jack) of Ile Des Chenes, MB.
Also left to mourn his passing is his brother Frank (Joan) Chevrier of Victoria, B.C. and sister Doris Chevrier of Winnipeg, MB. Also left to mourn his passing is his mother-in-law Pearl Lesage of St. Claude, MB; brother-in-law Albert (Margaret) Lesage of Rathwell, MB; brother-in-law Ronnie (Georgina) Lesage of Sprague, MB; sister-in-law Irene (Brian) Jane of Portage la Prairie, MB; brother-in-law Brian (Doreen) Lesage of Sanford, MB; brother-in-law Jerry (Debbie) Lesage of Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law Fay Chevrier of Regina, SK; sister-in-law Kathy Chevrier of Regina, SK; sister-in-law Audrey Lesage of Portage la Prairie, MB; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Antoine and Mary Chevrier of Rathwell, MB. He was also predeceased by his oldest son Wayne Chevrier of Winnipeg, MB; sister Josephine Kucharsky; brother-in-law Joe Kucharsky of St. Claude, MB; brother Edward Chevrier of Regina, SK; brother George Chevrier and sister-in-law Eileen Chevrier of Regina, SK; brother Clifford Chevrier and sister-in-law Simone Chevrier of St. Claude, MB; brother Normand Chevrier of Regina, SK. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law Lorraine Sheptycki and brother-in-law John Sheptycki of Rathwell, MB; brother-in-law Henry Lesage and sister-in-law Lorrie Lesage of Regina, SK; brother-in-law Richard Lesage of Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law Joyce Lesage of Holland, Mb; brother-in-law David Lesage; brother-in-law Gerard Lesage.
Lloyd was born on April 16, 1938 on his parent’s farm near Rathwell, MB. He worked on his parent’s farm until he was 16 and left home to work on the railroad. He met the love of his life Denise Lesage, and were married in a double ring ceremony with his cousin John Sheptycki and Denise’s sister Lorraine Lesage. He left the railroad to begin farming and continued until his retirement. He worked part time cleaning brush along the Boyne River. He was also the councillor for the municipality of South Norfolk for 11 years which he enjoyed immensely. He enjoyed his retirement years going for coffee to Rathwell and St. Claude and cruising around town and the countryside. His personal traits compared him to Archie Bunker along with smoking cigars and watching wrestling.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, May 26th, 2019, at McKenzie’s Portage Funeral Chapel from 2:00 p.m to 3:00 pm. Memorial Service will take place on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rathwell Community Hall in Rathwell, MB. There will be a private interment held in the St. Claude Cemetery.
