Peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2014, Linda Catherine Chartrand passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 50 years.

Linda was predeceased by her parents John and Cecil Catcheway; sisters Annette Sanderson, Ethel Rose Catcheway, Doris Catcheway and daughter Tammy Lynn Chartrand.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years Russell Chartrand; daughters Lorelie Chartrand, Chastity Bone (Gage, Nicholas, Alanna, Diamond & Jewel); son Andrew (AJ) Catcheway; brothers Clifford Catcheway, Walter (Brenda) Catcheway, Joseph Catcheway; sisters Mary (Percy) Gabriel, Grace Catcheway, Norma (Conrad) Gabriel; brothers-in-law Carl Sanderson, Stanford (Joanne) Chartrand, Doug Chartrand, Glen (Deana) Chartrand, Leslie (Carol) Chartrand, Garnet Chartrand; sisters-in-law Sylvia McKay, Karen Chartrand and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was born in Winnipegosis and raised in Skownan, MB.  Linda and Russell were married on January 28, 1984 and began to raise their family.   She was also a foster parent for many years.  Linda’s creativity was expressed through sewing, painting, cooking, making floral arrangements, baking and decorating her home.  Some of her greatest pleasures were visiting thrift shops and attending yard sales.  Family was very important to her; she hosted many gatherings.  Her children held a very special place in her heart.  She was a born again Christian and loved attending church and supporting church services. She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music.

The family would like to thank the staff in the Dialysis Unit and the rest of the staff of the Portage District General Hospital for providing excellent care to Linda.

Traditional Wake will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm Gilbert Catcheway Ministries – Day of Pentecost Ministry of All Nations, 136 Sask Ave. E, Portage la Prairie, MB. Traditional Service will take place on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at Gilbert Catcheway Ministries – Day of Pentecost Ministry of All Nations. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
