Lillian died at her home in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island as the dawn broke on June 23, 2018. She died as she lived, with faith in her Lord and with dignity. For those who had the privilege to know her throughout her 100 years on this earth, her departure brings both sorrow for her loss and joy that she has been called home.
Lillian grew up in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba the eldest of the 5 children of Donald Ewan MacVicar and Pearl Maude Case. She had a job she loved with the Christianson family and their John Deere dealership which resulted in a lifelong excitement when she saw the signature green and yellow. She and her mother moved to Vancouver in the early 1970’s to live closer to her sister Norma and her family and in 1998, after Norma’s death she moved to Prince Edward Island to be close to her sister Marilyn and her family.
She was a large presence in the life of all she touched and will be missed dearly by all her cherished friends and family in Charlottetown, Portage la Prairie, Vancouver, and Seoul.
A Memorial Service was held at Central Christian Church, Charlottetown, on July 3, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, in Portage la Prairie on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 11:30 a.m.
