Leslie Robert Hurst

Peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2010, Les Hurst passed away, at the Lion's Prairie Manor at the age of 79 years.

He was predeceased by his first wife Winnie and is survived by his wife Doreen of Portage la Prairie; children Roberta (Barney) Christianson of High Bluff, Stephen (Denise) Hurst of St. Albert, AB, David (Patti) Hurst of Red Deer, AB, Heather (Murray) McCallum of Brandon, Glen (Carol) Berrington of Ridge Field, Connecticut, USA, Cathy Boivin of Steinbach, Allan (Cathy) Berrington of Fort Langley, BC, Joanne (Mike) Sullivan of Portage la Prairie and Scott (Katharine) Berrington of Hammond Plains, Nova Scotia and all their families.

Les immigrated to Canada in 1952. He was employed by Campbell Soup and worked in various plants across Canada retiring in Portage la Prairie. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Les had a passion for music: he played in a pipe band, directed choirs and played the organ at various churches. He was very social and enjoyed many sports.

There will be a private memorial service. Interment is to take place at a later date.
