LAWRENCE (LARRY) EDWARD BUECHLER
After a long battle with cancer, peacefully with family at his side Larry Buechler passed away on Sunday, October 25 th , 2015 at Portage District General Hospital at the age of 73 years.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Hazel (Tudy) Buechler; children: Darcey Penner (Dan); Daryl Buechler; Shane Buechler (Jamie); mother Lexie Buechler, all of Portage la Prairie, MB.; sister Tammy (Craig) Graham of Lac Du Bonnet, MB. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Sheldon Penner (Cassidy), Tanner Buechler (Nessie), Nicholas Penner, Travis Buechler (Lacie), Kelsie Penner (Justin), Jenna Buechler (Tanner), Kahlie Buechler, Devin Buechler and Nathan Buechler; great grandchildren Paisley Jowett and Kambree Buechler. Larry is also survived by his brother-in-law Harley (Irene) Johnston and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his father Fernie Buechler; sister Patricia Wilcox; and brother-in-law Chuck Wilcox.
Larry was born July 2, 1942 in Portage la Prairie, MB. Larry grew up on the farm in Edwin, MB, later moving to Portage where he met and married his beloved wife Tudy (Oct 6, 1962). The two of them spent the next 53 years living, working and raising a family of three children. Larry worked over the years at Dominion Bridge, Shell oil, Drove taxi, Campbell soup till it closed and then K-Vac until he retired. Larry over the years enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved curling and watching the ball games, taking care of his yard and flower beds, and spending time at the cottage.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will take place on Monday Nov 2 nd , 2015 at 1pm at McKenzie’s funeral chapel. A reception will follow with the Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
