Larry McLeod

After a short illness, Larry McLeod passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 64 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sonja; children Yolanda, Adrian (Holly), Laura (Andrew) and Brian; grandchildren Ryan, Kalli, Nevaeh and Nolan; siblings Gilmour, Francis (Kenny), Jeanette (Cecil), Donna and Lindsay (Sandra); sister-in-law Janet; brother-in-law Ronald; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Audrey; siblings Howard (Betty), Doug and sister-in-law Patsy.

As a youngster growing up in Kinosota, Larry enjoyed building go-carts with his twin as well as swimming and skating on the lake near his childhood home. Larry was always outdoors exploring and getting into mischief. When the family moved to Portage he attended school at P.C.S and P.C.I. Then he went on to work for the school division, Morrison Ltd. and Craig Dunn.

Larry met the love of his life Sonja in 1997, and together they made their home in Portage. He loved spending time with his wife and children, especially his grandchildren.

Larry also enjoyed camping, playing pool, video games and going for coffee with his twin. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Viewing and slideshow will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Slideshow will be viewable on this page once available.
