Kathleen Marie Peters (Beauchamp)
January 8, 1947 a�" September 4, 2011
Suddenly on September 4, 2011, Kathleen Marie Peters nee Beauchamp a�" Giiwedino-binesii-ikwe (Northern Thunderbird Woman) - began her journey home to the spirit world.
She leaves to mourn her children Ivy (Reggie), Derek (Pamela), and Kathryn (granddaughter whom she had raised). Brothers; Doug (Janet), Bill (Hilda), and Ken (Susan), and sisters; Mary, Donna (Rocky), and Eleanor (Cecilio). Grandchildren; Melodie, Carmen, Derek Jr. and Marie. Great-grandchildren; Nathaniel, Jonas, Sage and Kashtin.
As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and extended family members.
Kathy was predeceased by her mother Elsie Beauchamp nee Prince, father Norman Beauchamp, Husband Harry Peters, Sisters; Barbara and Evelynn Donna (infant), Brothers; Norman Robert (Bob) and Alfred Roulette.
She was born in Macgregor on January 8, 1947. She attended Nursing school in Winnipeg at the St. Boniface Hospital. She loved attending bingo and going for drives in the country. She also liked to clean and rearrange her home. She was a proud Long Plain First Nation Band member and sat on numerous committees. Whenever there was a family crisis she was the person to call and get family phone numbers and contact information, she was the center of her family as everyone was always in contact with her.
Kathy was always smiling and was happy when family members came to visit. She would always have goodies for when the kids came along. She was loved and will be missed by all.
A traditional wake will be held at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 starting at 5:00 pm.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The feast will begin at 12:00 pm, funeral service to follow with Keith Pashe officiating and burial at the Long Plain Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Jason Peters, Doug Beauchamp Jr., Shawn Beauchamp, Ronald Smoke Jr., Chris Beauchamp and Michael Beauchamp. The family considers extended family and friends as honorary pallbearers.
