Katherine was born in Morden, MB where she lived with her parents until she was married to John Giesbrecht on February 10,1957 and resided at Oakville, MB where she remained till she moved to Winnipeg, MB in 2005.

She completed Grade 8 studies and received her Sunday School Teaching Certificate at the Winkler Bible School.  She had a love of gardening, sewing, hosting bible studies, baking and enjoyed the various beauties of nature which she spoke of often.  Her love for her Heavenly Father always came first followed closely by her love for her husband John and her 5 children.   She had a wonderful sense of humor which shone through right to the last moments of her life.   She would very often tell her family that she was almost perfect, lacking only slightly in patience followed always by a great chuckle.

In moments of reflection she would invariably refer to the ladies community study she hosted in her home, her time as a Homecare Aid and her time working for the Home Team.   Always special to her were times spent with her greater families, coffee’s out with her sisters, special occasion celebrations, and the many times she had with Tante Sarah and all the help and advice she received from her in the early married years.  She would recall all the silly special things the grandchildren and great grandchildren would say and often use those sayings in her daily life.

In July of 2014 she made the decision to move to High River to live with her daughter Iris as she was in need of some care.  Her health continued to decline after her move and so her last months were spent with much laughter, joy and peace all the while in the midst of knowing that her Saviour was drawing nigh.

On December 3, 2014 the Lord called her home and she went so peacefully and willing to be with her Jesus forever.

We look forward with joy to our great reunion made possible only by the acceptance of the Blood of Jesus and His great love for us all.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning, December 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at Community Fellowship Church, south of Newton, MB.
